Over the 8-ish years I’ve been writing Girl Loves Gloss, I’ve tested and reviewed makeup, skincare and lifestyle items ranging in price from $2-$1000+.
I’ve been sent plenty, and I’ve purchased plenty of products and I’ve reviewed them all with the same critiques and criticisms that I hope translates to an honest and authentic review you all can trust.
Something I consider a lot though, is the question, “Would I repurchase this?” and perhaps a better question I should be asking myself is, “Could I repurchase this?”.
LET’S GET REAL FOR A MINUTE: SOMETIMES THOSE HOLIDAY SETS AREN’T REALLY A GREAT DEAL
Beauty brands are kind of notorious for downsizing, or even offering subpar quality (cough*Too Faced* cough) for their holiday launches each year. So I’ve sniffed out some great buys when it comes to holiday gift sets from brands I know and love and use.
These sets include full-size products, incredible values, quality products and various price ranges for everyone.
WHEN I FALL IN LOVE WITH A SKINCARE PRODUCT, I FALL HARD.
That means I buy them over and over, and always keep them around, regardless of what else I am trying. I consider these my litmus test; It’s easy to phase in new products and see how they perform when I know that my skin always reacts well to my litmus tests. If you have sensitive skin, or find your skin sometimes reacting when you try new skincare product cocktails, this is a great way to manage that.
I’M A MULTIPLE CLEANSER KIND OF GIRL.
I rely on one to break down my makeup, and another to cleanser the skin. This method is known as “double cleansing” and since I caught on to the concept I could never go back! These days we’re all wearing SPF (right… you are wearing your sunscreen, aren’t you??) at the very least, and a full face at the most. It’s just not enough to expect one cleanser to rule them all!

It’s easy to fall loyal to certain products, or to stick to what you know with skincare; There’s a lot out there and it can be overwhelming. Sometimes, the products are right, but the method is wrong.
Other times you could be missing out on using a product that is more catered to your skin type.
I’ve compiled a list of 5 simple changes you might want to make to your skincare routine to get the most out of your products and your time!
