I’VE BEEN ON A JOURNEY TO GET LONGER- AND FULLER-LOOKING LASHES LIKE THE GLORY THEY ONCE WERE.
My eyelashes have always been my “calling card” so to speak when it comes to finding a recognizable feature on my face. After having my daughter in 2017, stress and postpartum hormones took their toll on my hair, skin, lashes and brows.
Besides generally feeling finer, I felt my lashes didn’t hold a curl as well as they used to, which had already been a struggle of mine.
I felt like my mascara wasn’t looking as great as it once was.
So I went back to the basics and brought in a product that I knew works and have had great experiences with in the past: RapidLash.
WHAT ARE RAPIDLASH AND RAPIDBROW?
Both RapidLash and RapidBrow are serums meant to condition, moisturize and fortify your natural lashes and brows.
Some important must-knows about RapidLash and RapidBrow:
Ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested
Safe for contact lens wearers
Fragrance free
Paraben free
Not tested on animals
HOW LONG DOES RAPIDLASH TAKE TO WORK?
RapidLash takes on average 30 days to start seeing results and RapidBrow takes on average 60 days. I find with both of these products, I notice results much sooner, but RapidLash had more significant results for me, as you can see in the before and after shots!
I noticed within 2 weeks that my outer corner lashes were starting to curl up on their own. As someone who has stick straight lashes, this was a huge bonus for me! By 4 weeks, I could see a significant lengthened effect, and when I curl my lashes before mascara now, the curl holds so much better.
After 30 days of RapidLash. Before curling lashes & then after curling with one coat of mascara
HOW DO YOU USE RAPIDLASH AND RAPIDBROW?
RapidLash has a tiny little brush applicator that you paint on like a liquid eyeliner. I use it every night after cleansing as my last step before hopping into bed.
At the same time, I apply RapidBrow, which has a spoolie much like any brow gel, and brush it through my brows.
If you forget to use either product in the evening, they work just fine the next morning before makeup, I just give a couple of extra minutes after applying. The key is to consistently use it daily to get the most optimal results.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO TAKE CARE OF MY LASHES?
I have a few essential tips for when it comes to keeping your eyelashes looking their longest and fullest:
Always take your makeup off every night, and use a proper cleanser or makeup remover meant for the eyes. If you wear waterproof mascara, you must use some sort of waterproof remover or balm/oil cleanser to break down the waxes. No micellar water!
When curling your lashes, invest in a quality lash curler that won’t pinch or crimp your eyelashes like my all-time favourite, the Surratt Lash Curler.
Use gentle squeezing motions to curl your lashes, and curl at the root, mid-length and then at the ends for the most natural uplifted look.
NEVER curl your eyelashes once you’ve applied mascara!
RapidLash is something I know works, and have used for years, but this was the first time trying it since going through the great postpartum hair shed (did you know that can affect your lashes and brows too!?) after having my daughter.
I’m thrilled that it’s continued to provide me with such wonderful, consistent results! As a busy mom to a toddler, I need to save time getting ready as much as possible, so having my lashes look longer and fuller with a natural lift to them means less time putting on my mascara. I love that my lashes look more separated and defined once I’ve applied my mascara now as well!
If you’re looking to try RapidLash or RapidBrow, you can get them from London Drugs which does a buy 5, get 1 free on RapidLash/RapidLash XL!
The Colourpop Baroque Palette isn’t something I would normally gravitate towards, and yet it caught my eye. With one of the Pantone colours of the year for 2021 being Ultimate Grey, I’m expecting to see plenty of the shade going forward. Cooler tones have been making a comeback in makeup but grey can be…
Tarte Cosmetics has yet another palette on the market and I got my hands on it to see if it was a buy or bust. I’ve had some amazing luck with Tarte palettes in the past like this one and this one, but occasionally their formula can vary. Their new, limited edition, Love, Trust and…
Charlotte Tilbury has been on a roll lately with new additions to her gorgeous range. I recently reviewed the Hollywood Flawless Filter here, and I was keen to get my hands on the new shades of her Eyes to Mesmerise, which I am already a fan of. Also new, and limited edition, are the Pretty Youth…
Here’s a little #SundaySplurge for you that may very well take your skin from looking alright to looking absolutely amazing. Every time I treat my face to the much hyped Charlotte’s Magic Cream, I am blown away not only for how incredible it feels on the skin, but how wonderful it makes my skin look. The…
When I found out I was finally pregnant after a loss and months and months of trying, I felt like I had a pretty decent idea of what I was signing myself up for (I mean, hello – that’s what the internet is for!). I was am adamant about keeping an open mind, rolling with the…
Are you bored of Mascara Mondays yet? Hopefully not because I really love trying out new ones for you all to review here on Girl Loves Gloss. I like to think of myself as a bit of a mascara connoisseur, and it’s probably the product that lets me down the most out of all I…
