IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream

I suppose it is time I had this much-hyped, ridiculously long-named product here on Girl Loves Gloss. I’m of course talking about the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream* (seriously, could there be any more words in that name!?). The brand claims that this product combines a full coverage color correcting (“CC”) cream with an anti-aging serum, and a broad spectrum physical SPF of 50. Besides these huge claims, the product has a huge following so I knew it was time to put it to the test.

The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream (as I’ll refer to it from now on for simplicity!) was actually developed with plastic surgeons and is packed full of anti-aging peptides, Niacin, Vitamins A, B, C, and E and hyaluronic acid.  The aim here is to improve skin’s texture, brightness and hydration levels, as well as an incredible SPF to protect against future sun damage. 

I’d heard so many things about this product before I got a chance to try it, but the top of the list was that it really can be full coverage, and that it’s best to work in thin layers and press the formula into the skin rather than buff. I completely agree with both of these statements.

I’ve found that this generally gives a medium coverage right at first application, and can be built up to full in a little extra spot treating. The product is quite thick in texture, and I initially was put off by that a bit, but found that working it into my skin with my hands was the absolute best application. true as well. I originally attempted to just buff it into oblivion like most foundations, but it didn’t blend out well with a brush. It wasn’t until I used the warmth of my hands and made pressing motions over the face that it turned until a beautiful smooth finish. So now I take a pump of this, and dot it over my face, then work in sections working it in, and the results speak for themselves!

The finish I get from this is really lovely; It doesn’t settle matte, nor dewy in look or feel, but rather a very skin-like satin look. I generally don’t need powder to set as I have dry skin, and find it lasts really well on me. I’ve heard many oilier skinned gals rave about this, so it seems to coverage a large range of suitable skin types. By the end of a full 12 hour day I tend to find this looking a touch dry in the corners of the nose and in between eyebrows, but I really don’t expect any base makeup to look perfect that long into a day without touchups. 

I will say there are a couple things to take note: there is a strong lemon scent to this upon application, though I feel it dissipates after application. I wouldn’t say it’s a sweet or feminine lemon scent, but rather a bit like lemon detergent so keep that in mind if you are fragrance sensitive or have allergies. 

Secondly, I find this runs dark. I wear the shade light and it is borderline too dark for me (though Fair was too light). While I don’t find it oxidizes any darker after wearing it, you might want to keep that in mind when choosing a shade!

Overall – I can see the hype on this and it makes sense that it is the brand’s #1 selling product. It’s so rare to hear of a CC cream that offers such coverage options! Another huge plus for me was that the undertone was neutral-yellow based, rather than pink as so many CC creams are. If you’ve struggled to find something that has some sun protection in it, buildable coverage and the feel of a tinted moisturizer rather than a foundation, I would highly recommend looking into this!

Oh, and in case you are curious, there is also the IT Cosmetics CC+ Illumination SPF50 Cream which I’ll be trying out as well to share feedback with you! My first inclinations are that it has some visible sparkle which has me tentative, but first impressions can change…. stay tuned!
