  • Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzers

IF YOU HADN’T HEARD, CREAM COSMETICS ARE ALL THE RAGE.

And my normal to dry skin loves a skin-like formula. The beauty of cream cheek, contour and bronzer products is that they really can have the ability to mimic skin texture (good or bad!). They are buildable, workable, mixable and perfect for on the go touch-ups.

When they’re good, they’re really good.

    Current Cream Beauty Product Faves

LATELY, I JUST CAN’T GET OVER THE EASE OF CREAM BEAUTY PRODUCTS.

The heat has cranked up, my toddler has decided sleeping is for the weak, and I just never seem to have time. So that means my morning routine needs to be crazy fast, and cream products just ease that struggle a little bit faster.

Here’s the thing though: I have dehydrated skin. And dehydration mixed with cream products can be dicey, because my skin wants to drink up any moisture it has, leaving blotchy pigment behind.

So, unsurprisingly, I am picky about what cream makeup products make the cut.

  • Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer vs Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel

FUN FACT: ONE OF THE FIRST POSTS I EVER WROTE WAS ON CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL BRONZER, AND IT’S STILL ONE OF MY MOST READ POSTS!

That post was written back in 2013, and I’m always amused to see it still getting hits (mainly because the photography is crap LOL). We all know that Chanel knows how to make a cult product though, and Soleil Tan de Chanel definitely holds that status.

In fact, the first time I remember seeing it was on the Pixiwoo YouTube channel and it was promptly sold out everywhere for ages until I could get my hands on it. These days it’s much easier to find cream bronzers, but Soleil Tan de Chanel was ahead of the game.

  • Huda Beauty Matte and Metal Melted Shadows

YOU KNOW THAT MOMENT WHEN A FORMULA BLOWS YOU AWAY AND YOU SUDDENLY WANT IT IN EVERY SHADE POSSIBLE?

The Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadows were exactly that for me.

One side is matte, the other metallic, as the name suggests. It which makes for the perfect one product eye look!

Huda claims these are long-wearing, highly pigmented and easy to apply formula, but admittedly I had my trepidations.

  • Revisiting Colourpop Cosmetics | Is The Value Worth the Hype?

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, I SWORE OFF COLOURPOP.

While I loved the affordable price point, I had previously had some questionable customer service that left a sour taste in my mouth. Fast forward, and it seems like not a week goes by without a new Colourpop launch. It can be very hard not to get wrapped up in the constant, “OMG pretty need that!” FOMO feelings. The constant barrage of launches actually turned me off the brand; It has just been too much, too frequent.

Having said that, as a blogger I get asked about the brand frequently. I always believe in giving brands a second chance and it’s important for me to try the brands you all are interested in seeing! So I went ahead and ordered a few things during their holiday sale back around Christmas time and considered it a clean slate.

Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint

IT TOOK ME 7 MONTHS TO PURCHASE CHANEL LES BEIGES WATER FRESH TINT.

..because it was sold out every single time I tried to buy it. For SEVEN months!

Chanel is no stranger to beauty products that gain an insane cult following. Remember when you couldn’t find Soleil Tan de Chanel anywhere? Rouge Noir Nail Polish Anyone? How about Notorious blush which made contouring a thing before it was a thing; People were buying it on eBay for 4-5x times the retail price for years!

Initially, when I heard about Chanel Water Tint I wrote it off as one of those nothing bases. It seemingly had no coverage, was stupid expensive and even seemed a bit… gimmicky.

Must Have Lip Product | Clarins Lip Comfort Oils

LIP GLOSS IS OFTEN SEEN AS PURELY COSMETIC, BUT THE CLARINS INSTANT LIGHT LIP COMFORT OIL IS ANYTHING BUT.

Given the name of this blog, you might have gathered that I’d likely always choose gloss over lipstick. But I am picky about my glosses (I mean, is anyone surprised by this?). I don’t want tacky, sticky or gummy gloss; I have long hair, and you know that trouble lip gloss brings with that!

I also suffer from perpetually dehydrated lips, regardless of how much water I chug a day. So that means I need lip balm in my life, but sometimes balm and gloss don’t play nice with each other. But what if I told you there was a super nourishing lip oil that offered the mirror shine of gloss, but the soothing comfort of a balm?

5 Glow Enhancing Products For Natural Radiance

I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU ALL, THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS NOT BEEN KIND ON MY SKIN.

I have dry dull skin on a good day, but the stress of what’s going on in the world, paired with a toddler that’s gone nocturnal has been wreaking havoc on this face. Between dryness, breaking out, all makeup sinking into pores I didn’t know I had and texture on texture- well it’s been rough.

I’ve been reaching for all the glow enhancing products I can get. I’m craving that radiance, that plumped up skin, that youthful glow that just doesn’t come easy to me. But here’s the thing, not all glow-getting products do it for me; I don’t want glitter, sparkle or for my makeup to feel and stay sticky all day.I want natural-looking dewy skin.

I want glow, but it still needs to be wearable.
